Eric Hirshberg from Activision took the stage at Nintendo’s conference today to officially announce Call of Duty: Black Ops II as an upcoming title on the Wii U.

Earlier today, prior to the official announcement, Joystiq uploaded an image of the demo kiosk showcasing the game at the conference.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II on the Wii U will take advantage of the Wii U’s dual screens and will be running at 720p HD at 60 fps online, delivering the same core experience as the PS3 and Xbox 360.

It’s “the full Call of Duty experience on the Wii U,” says Hirshberg. The Wii U features co-op “second-screen” gameplay, allowing one player to use the TV and the other to use the Wii U gamepad screen. You’ll also be able to customize your loadout from the mini-screen and view the level map.

It will be supporting all four Wii U controllers – the Wii remote, Classic Controller Pro, the gamepad, and the Wii U Pro Controller. Black Ops II for the Wii U is being developed by Treyarch and is set for release during the Wii U’s launch window (which runs through the end of March).

[Update] Nintendo has announced the Wii U launch titles, which includes Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The game will be releasing for the Wii U on November 18, 2012 alongside the console.
